About the role
We are looking for a Zoning and Mapping Engineer to lead geospatial data activities for our water distribution network. The role combines GIS management, spatial analysis and CAD design to support planning, operations and emergency response.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, analyse and model geospatial data for the water distribution system.
- Maintain and ensure the integrity of the GIS database and integrate it with other utility data systems.
- Assess land‑use changes and provide spatial analyses to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Create maps, network diagrams, schematics and 3D models, and develop custom GIS tools and applications.
- Conduct field surveys to verify and update geospatial information.
- Collaborate with engineers and other specialists, providing technical guidance, training and support for CAD software.
- Support emergency response by delivering timely geospatial information.
- Maintain a library of standard design elements and ensure CAD drawings reflect the actual physical network.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, GIS, Surveying, Geomatics or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in GIS, spatial planning or utility mapping.
- Knowledge of computer‑based reporting and experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
