Rwanda Seed Science & Technology Lead

About the role

One Acre Fund is looking for a Rwanda Seed Science & Technology Lead to head the RICA Seed Center’s science and training services. The role combines research, postgraduate teaching and management to ensure more than one million farmers in Rwanda have access to high‑quality seed.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the Seed Center’s scientific and technology strategy, aligning with long‑term impact goals.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, overseeing planning, budgeting and OKRs.
• Design, deliver and continuously improve a flagship postgraduate training program, managing curriculum, instructors and partnerships.
• Secure accreditation, regional positioning and growth opportunities for the training program.
• Oversee the technical roadmap for seed laboratory services, including quality testing, certification and compliance with ISO and ISTA standards.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders and funding partners.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in seed science or seed technology.
• Experience conducting technical research and publishing findings.
• Background in delivering postgraduate‑level training or academic courses.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management capabilities.
