Director – Public Health Communications Consultant (Secondment)

About the role

Global Health Strategies is seeking a Director‑level consultant for a nine‑month secondment in Kigali. The consultant will be embedded with a public‑health client, working on a hybrid basis to design and deliver high‑impact communications and advocacy programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust communications and advocacy strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Translate complex public‑health concepts into clear, actionable messages for diverse audiences.
• Create and edit a range of content, including key messages, fact sheets, speeches, press releases, media advisories, opinion pieces, web articles, social‑media posts and multimedia assets.
• Build and nurture media and stakeholder networks, identify appropriate contacts, and draft compelling pitches.
• Lead event management, stakeholder engagement and client liaison activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience designing and implementing communications and advocacy projects.
• Strong project‑management background and proven ability to work in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strategic thinking and a deep understanding of global public‑health and development issues.
• Bilingual English/French and an advanced university degree are advantageous.
