Compliance Manager – Rwanda Office

About the role

The Compliance Manager will lead Jhpiego’s risk identification and mitigation efforts in Rwanda (and Burundi), ensuring that program activities align with donor requirements, internal policies, and local regulations. Reporting to the Country Director and working closely with the Senior Compliance Director, the role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on monitoring across procurement, finance, and sub‑recipient activities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess risks that could impede Jhpiego’s strategic and program objectives.
• Develop and implement a country‑wide compliance monitoring plan, including monthly reviews, spot checks, and field visits.
• Coordinate internal controls and risk‑management frameworks with finance, program, and senior leadership.
• Provide guidance, training, and oversight on procurement, sub‑recipient monitoring, and financial management.
• Lead communications on fraud‑related issues and support the annual risk‑assessment process.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations, contractual obligations, and applicable Rwandan laws.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and analytical abilities with a track record in compliance or risk management.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, capable of influencing across functions.
