Trading & Settlements Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Trading & Settlements Officer to own the operational core of our brokerage. You will execute client trades on the Rwanda Stock Exchange, ensure timely settlement, and act as the main liaison with partner brokers.

Key responsibilities

• Execute client buy and sell orders for RSE‑listed equities and bonds accurately and within required timeframes.
• Monitor order status, confirm executions with counterparties and the RSE trading system.
• Reconcile daily trade and settlement records, investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain client account balances, deposits and withdrawals linked to trading activity.
• Serve as the primary operational contact with partner brokers, coordinate order routing and resolve execution or settlement issues.
• Prepare and submit periodic regulatory reports and perform AML/CFT monitoring in line with Button’s compliance policy.
• Maintain trading, settlement and client transaction records to meet CMA record‑keeping requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related field.
• 1–3+ years of experience in trading operations, treasury, bank operations or capital‑markets settlements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure.
• Professional communication skills for interaction with brokers and regulators.
• Proficiency with Excel and ability to learn new trading systems quickly.
