Technical Advisor, Clinical

About the role

The Technical Advisor, Clinical will support CHAI’s partnership with the Rwanda Ministry of Health to strengthen maternal and newborn health services. The role provides expert clinical guidance, helps translate national strategies into actionable programs, and ensures high‑quality care delivery across the health system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical clinical advice to the Ministry of Health and implementing partners.
• Support the design, implementation and monitoring of maternal and newborn health interventions aligned with the Fifth Health Sector Strategic Plan.
• Assist in data collection, analysis and reporting to track progress toward mortality reduction targets.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities, including training and mentorship for health workers.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate clinical components into broader health system strengthening efforts.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in medicine, nursing, public health or a related health field.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical program implementation in low‑resource settings.
• Strong understanding of maternal and newborn health priorities and guidelines.
• Ability to work effectively with government agencies, NGOs and international partners.
