Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls for INGANJI SACCO RUBAVU, ensuring compliance with internal policies, Rwandan law and best financial practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute monthly, quarterly and annual audit plans targeting high‑risk activities.
• Review compliance with IFRS, Central Bank of Rwanda regulations and internal audit guidelines.
• Identify and report operational shortcomings, fraud risks and misuse of funds.
• Prepare audit reports, track implementation of recommendations and supervise audit staff.
• Verify accurate recording of shares, deposits, loans and interest in the cooperative’s IT system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum three years of auditing experience, preferably in micro‑finance or banking.
• Rwandan nationality, age not exceeding 45 years.
• Professional accounting or audit qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using core banking software.
