School Nurse

About the role

The International School of Kigali is seeking a full‑time, on‑site School Nurse to provide direct nursing care to students and staff. You will ensure a safe, healthy environment while supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing of the school community.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the school clinic and maintain accurate health records.
• Provide assessment, first aid, and emergency response for students and staff.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor chronic health conditions in collaboration with families and healthcare providers.
• Promote health education and preventive health initiatives across the school.
• Contribute to health‑related policies, protocols, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and counselors to support student wellbeing.

Required profile

• Strong school nursing and health‑care skills, including clinic management.
• Professional nursing and pediatrics experience, preferably in international or multicultural settings.
• Valid nursing license/registration and a recognized nursing qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills are an asset.
