Nursery (ECD) Teacher – Kayovu, Gashora Sector

About the role

The Little Lights Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre is seeking a dedicated Nursery (ECD) Teacher to manage daily operations and deliver targeted teaching to nursery‑aged children. The role combines classroom instruction with representation of I Will Stand International in the Gashora sector.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Country Director to establish processes and procedures for the newly created position.
• Oversee learning initiatives, set learning goals, organise activities and motivate mixed‑ability students.
• Prepare and adapt learning resources, develop individual teaching plans, and use computer programmes to reinforce learning.
• Track each child’s progress, complete weekly reports/assessments and provide clear feedback.
• Maintain strong relationships with students, parents and fellow ECD staff.
• Handle incidents promptly, promote positive behaviour and uphold child‑protection, health, safety and confidentiality policies.
• Perform administrative duties and support funding and grant management as required.
• Represent IWSI and the Education Department at events and with government entities in the Gashora sector.

Required profile

• Ability to balance ministry, family, leadership and work responsibilities.
• Strong desire for continuous personal, spiritual and leadership development.
• Capacity to lead and manage home and family life according to biblical principles.

Required skills

• Use a variety of teaching methods and develop structured, individualized lesson plans.
• Prepare and manage learning resources for early‑childhood students.
• Basic computer proficiency to support classroom instruction.
• Administrative competence for reporting and record‑keeping.
• Knowledge of child‑protection, health and safety policies.
