Local Sourcing Development Manager

About the role

The Local Sourcing Development Manager will lead Bralirwa’s local raw material agenda, supporting the regional ambition of sourcing 60% of raw materials locally by 2030. Based in Kigali and reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the role combines strategic planning, R&D oversight, and farmer support to ensure sustainable, cost‑efficient supply of key ingredients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a long‑term local raw material plan aligned with Bralirwa’s growth targets.
• Design and implement a local‑content strategy for core recipes, monitoring progress and market trends.
• Lead recipe optimisation projects, creating cost models and coordinating brewing trials.
• Define and update raw material processing standards in line with global supply‑chain requirements.
• Manage barley seed production programmes for both local and imported varieties.
• Provide agronomy, quality assurance and control support to barley farmers and processing partners.
• Coordinate with the Agriculture Extension service provider and trigger farm audits on good agricultural practices.
• Report regularly to senior management and the regional AMEE Local Sourcing Director.

Required profile

• Qualified and dedicated professional with a strong interest in local raw material sourcing.
• Based in Kigali and able to work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Experience in managing R&D activities, agronomy programmes, or supply‑chain projects is preferred.
