Laundry Valet

About the role

The Laundry Valet ensures that all linens, garments and other items are cleaned, inspected and returned to guests and staff in pristine condition. Working within Marriott International’s housekeeping department, you will operate laundry equipment, handle chemicals safely, and maintain accurate records of all processed items.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor washing, dry‑cleaning and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and decide on repair, spot‑treatment, rewash or discard.
• Inspect cleaned articles for quality and place them in clean linen carts.
• Set dryer times and temperatures according to fabric type and load size.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry‑cleaning filters and drain traps after each load.
• Fold cleaned items by hand or using a folding machine to designated sizes.
• Maintain accurate records of all items laundered.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• No specific education required; a high school diploma or GED equivalent is acceptable.
• No prior laundry experience is necessary; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced hospitality environment and maintain a professional appearance.
