Entry-Level Banking Officer – Fresh Graduates

About the role

We are looking for fresh graduates to join our Institutional Banking team as entry‑level officers. The role involves handling cash and non‑cash transactions, assisting customers with account inquiries, and supporting daily banking operations while adhering to bank policies and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash deposits, cheque deposits, and withdrawals accurately.
• Verify deposit slips and ensure correct recording of all transactions.
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
• Respond to customer inquiries about account balances, statements, cheque books and digital banking services.
• Generate reports on newly opened accounts.
• Process incoming and outgoing remittances promptly.
• Apply internal controls to prevent fraud, loss and forgeries.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (First Class honors or Second‑Class Upper) in any discipline.
• Strong interest in building a career in banking.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Professional communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda; French is a plus.
• Integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with banking software and data‑entry applications.
