Consultant – GAP Trainer for French Beans Production

About the role

Women for Women Rwanda is seeking an experienced consultant to design and deliver training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for French beans. The consultant will work directly with women‑led farming cooperatives in Kayonza District to improve productivity, quality and market compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop farmer‑friendly training materials and a GAP guide in Kinyarwanda.
• Conduct classroom and field‑based sessions covering land preparation, seed selection, soil fertility, irrigation, pest management, safe agrochemical use, harvesting, post‑harvest handling and market standards.
• Lead practical field demonstrations and hands‑on learning activities.
• Prepare a final report summarizing outcomes, attendance, observations and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in horticultural production, specifically French beans, and GAP training.
• Proven track record of training farmer cooperatives or producer groups.
• Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda with strong facilitation and report‑writing abilities.
