Associate Field Manager (AFM) – Rwanda

About the role

Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR) is offering a six‑month Research and Data Analytics Internship within its Research, Evidence and Policy Department. The role provides a recent graduate or early‑career professional with hands‑on experience in applied research, data analysis, and knowledge management to support financial inclusion initiatives in Rwanda.

Key responsibilities

• Support the AFR Research and Market Analysis Framework, focusing on learning products such as the “AFR Thinks” series.
• Conduct data cleaning, analysis, visualization, and reporting using quantitative and qualitative datasets from projects and surveys.
• Assist in designing research methodologies, including sampling frameworks, survey instruments, analytical plans, and quality‑assurance processes.
• Participate in literature reviews, secondary research, and prepare concept notes, reports, presentations, and knowledge products.
• Coordinate and monitor research activities carried out by consultants, partners, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
• Help prepare quarterly, annual, and project‑specific progress reports and track key performance indicators.
• Organise meetings, stakeholder consultations, workshops, and dissemination events.
• Provide administrative support, maintain research databases, and assist in data validation and quality‑assurance processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with experience handling both quantitative and qualitative datasets.
• Excellent writing and communication skills for report and presentation preparation.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
