Trauma & Orthopedic Surgeon – Emergency Response Roster

About the role

International Medical Corps is seeking experienced trauma and orthopedic surgeons to join its Emergency Response Team (ERT) roster. As a standby member, you will be called upon to provide outpatient clinical care to populations affected by disasters and sudden‑onset emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality trauma and orthopedic surgical care in field clinics or mobile units during emergency deployments.
• Assess, triage, and manage acute injuries, fractures, and musculoskeletal conditions in disaster‑affected communities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary humanitarian teams, including nurses, anesthetists, and logisticians, to ensure safe patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to International Medical Corps clinical protocols and ethical standards.
• Participate in pre‑deployment training, orientation, and regular roster updates.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or equivalent qualification in trauma and/or orthopedic surgery.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience performing trauma and orthopedic procedures.
• Willingness to be on standby and deploy within 48 hours to crisis zones.
• Ability to work in low‑resource, high‑stress environments and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and patient‑centered care.
