Team Leader – Events, Banquets and Catering

About the role

Radisson Hotel Group is hiring a Team Leader in Kigali for its events, banquets and catering operations. The role covers assigned event operations, including banquets, conferences, catering and food and beverage services, and works closely with the Event Planning Manager / Coordinator, the Chef and other departments. The position may hold budgetary responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure sufficient guest supplies, beverage supplies and operating equipment for assigned events, and take daily and monthly inventories of food and equipment.
• Compile and submit reports such as weekly/monthly stock inventory and staff attendance, and prepare breakage and loss reports.
• Work with the Event Planning Manager, Chef and other departments to deliver events, maximize meeting space use and meet or exceed budgeted revenues.
• Keep banquet rooms, storage areas and work areas clean, and ensure equipment and fixtures are properly used and maintained.
• Implement service standards and operating procedures, and promote policies that increase revenue and control expenses.
• Serve as the main contact for clients on event days, read event orders, coordinate with group hosts and communicate client needs internally.
• Assign side duties to staff, check opening and closing tasks, run pre-event briefings and after-event debriefings, and record sales, cover counts and guest feedback in the logbook.
• Take part in HACCP procedures and food safety management, and ensure quality control and hygiene standards.
• Manage guest experience by reviewing feedback, handling complaints and keeping clients informed.
• Manage human resources: ensure fair treatment, hold pre-shift briefings and staff meetings, and recommend disciplinary action or commendation to the Venue Manager.
