Senior Manager Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Senior Manager Manufacturing Operations will lead the end‑to‑end production process for vaccine manufacturing in Kigali. You will be accountable for planning, executing and continuously improving manufacturing activities while ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement production schedules and oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet targets.
• Manage budgeting, cost control and resource allocation for the manufacturing department.
• Lead hiring, training, performance evaluation and development of the manufacturing team.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, safety regulations and readiness for audits or inspections.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Engineering and other functions to secure raw materials, maintain product standards and resolve operational issues.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and implement new technologies or methods as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Pharmacy.
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in production/manufacturing management, preferably in biopharmaceutical or vaccine environments.
• Proven leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, WHO) and experience with audits.
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and budget‑management skills.
