Research Manager – NCDs & RMNACH

About the role

The NCD & RMNACH Research Manager will be based primarily in Rwinkwavu, Rwanda, with regular work in Kirehe district. The role leads and manages research activities across non‑communicable diseases and reproductive, maternal, neonatal, adolescent, and child health programs, ensuring scientific rigor and integration with clinical and programmatic teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement research projects across NCD and RMNACH portfolios.
• Develop research protocols, study procedures, and data collection tools in collaboration with principal investigators.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, budgets, and ethical compliance.
• Lead quantitative, qualitative, and mixed‑methods study design, data collection, management, and analysis.
• Supervise and mentor data collectors, junior researchers, and field teams.
• Oversee quality‑improvement initiatives within both program areas.
• Prepare and contribute to abstracts, reports, manuscripts, and other dissemination products.

Required profile

• Advanced experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Proven track record of managing research projects from conception through dissemination.
• Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring junior researchers and collaborating with clinical staff.
• Strong ability to ensure ethical compliance, data security, and high‑quality data handling.
