Program Associate – Strategic Impact Evaluation & Learning

About the role

The Program Associate, Strategic Impact Evaluation and Learning (SIEL) supports a six‑year learning partnership between the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), IPA and J‑PAL. The role assists the Program Lead in managing research grants, developing projects and communicating outcomes across four strategic priority areas: growth, humanitarian assistance, climate and nature, and conflict and fragility.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the competitive research funding process, draft calls for proposals, manage reviewer communications and oversee grant agreement development.
• Track grant deliverables, maintain up‑to‑date records in Salesforce and ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
• Support project development by liaising with FCDO teams, IPA units and J‑PAL country offices, and facilitate matchmaking between researchers and programme staff.
• Assist in the preparation of dissemination materials, update IPA’s website with project summaries and contribute to training and capacity‑strengthening events.
• Provide financial monitoring support and help implement IPA’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, public policy or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience in project or research management, research fund administration or research dissemination.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Salesforce for database management and reporting.
