Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist designs and operates pipelines that turn unstructured and semi‑structured data into clean, structured datasets. Working remotely, you will apply NLP, machine‑learning, and rule‑based techniques to a variety of document types across multiple domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement extraction pipelines for legal contracts, medical records, financial reports, news articles, and technical documentation.
• Create and manage high‑quality training datasets, including annotation schema definition, team coordination, and quality assurance.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, and F1 metrics; analyse errors and iterate on guidelines or model architecture.
• Assess, integrate, and customise open‑source or commercial extraction tools and platforms.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems to new domains quickly by acquiring domain knowledge and updating guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, or computational linguistics.
• Strong problem‑solving ability with a track record of improving model performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, capable of documenting complex guidelines.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Experience with NLP libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, and Stanford CoreNLP.
