About the role
The Head of Arts Rwanda is the most senior representative of the British Council’s Arts programme in the country. You will lead the delivery of the Art in Action and Creative Growth programmes, building connections between UK and Rwandan artists and creative organisations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, implement and monitor Arts activities delivered through the global programmes Art in Action and Creative Growth.
- Lead a small specialist Arts team and manage relationships with sector partners and stakeholders.
- Provide Arts and Creative Industries expertise to the Country Director and feed insights into country‑level strategy.
- Collaborate with the Global Arts team, other country offices and the wider arts network to share best practice and identify multi‑country collaborations and income‑generation opportunities.
- Report to country leadership and influence decision‑making across Global Arts and Cultural Engagement.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in the arts, culture or creative industries.
- Strong understanding of international arts collaborations and cultural diplomacy.
- Experience managing small teams and multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
- Ability to provide strategic insight to senior country leadership.

What we offer
- Indefinite contract (permanent) with a monthly gross salary of RWF 3,686,113.
