About the role
The EU Delegation to Rwanda offers a funded 6‑month traineeship within its Political, Press and Information Section. The programme is designed for recent graduates eager to gain hands‑on experience in diplomatic work, political analysis, and strategic communication.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct media analysis and produce concise summaries for internal review.
- Support strategic and social‑media communication initiatives.
- Draft analytical and political reports on domestic, regional, and international developments.
- Participate in meetings, take notes, and prepare briefing documents.
- Engage with civil‑society organisations and represent the Delegation at external events.
Required profile
- University degree in International Relations, African Studies, EU Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, Media/Journalism or related fields.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); French is an asset.
- Strong interest in political and economic developments in the Great Lakes region and the EU.
- Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
- Previous practical experience (e.g., internship, NGO work) of up to 12 months, preferably abroad.
