About the role
The EU Delegation to Rwanda offers a funded six‑month traineeship for recent graduates interested in international relations, diplomacy and strategic communication. The placement is within the Political, Press and Information Section and provides hands‑on experience in political reporting, media analysis and public diplomacy.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct media analysis and prepare summaries for internal review.
- Support strategic and social‑media communication activities.
- Draft analytical and political reports on domestic, regional and international developments.
- Participate in meetings, take notes and produce reports.
- Engage with civil‑society organisations and represent the Delegation at external events.
Required profile
- University degree in international relations, African studies, EU studies, political science, public policy, economics, media/journalism or a related field.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); French is an asset.
- Strong interest in political and economic developments in the Great Lakes region and the EU.
- Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
- Previous short‑term practical experience (up to 12 months), preferably abroad.
Required skills
- Experience with professional or institutional social‑media publications.
What we offer
