Full‑Time Lecturer – Computer Science Department

About the role

The Institut d'Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri seeks a full‑time lecturer for its Computer Science Department. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate students, develop course materials, and contribute to the institute’s research and community outreach activities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach students and ensure adherence to current advances in research and pedagogy.
• Compile teaching and study tools, select textbooks, support teaching assistants, and manage laboratory or fieldwork.
• Review and advise on research proposals for theses or funding.
• Develop innovative course materials and mobilize resources for research, teaching, outreach, and community service.
• Engage in cutting‑edge research with students and academic staff.
• Provide advisory services for publishing student research in reputable journals.
• Participate in community development initiatives and faculty governance.

Required profile

• PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science (Industrial IT) with equivalence if obtained abroad.
• At least two years of professional experience in an academic environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to student success.
• Proven research record demonstrated by publications in national or international journals.
• Ability to work independently and with a diverse population.
• Availability for direct appointment as full‑time teaching staff.
