Core Network Engineer

About the role

The Core Network Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning and integrating core network elements such as 5GC, 4G EPC, IMS and NFV solutions. The role ensures smooth network go‑live, supports ongoing maintenance and contributes to capacity expansion and optimisation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and integrate core network components (5GC, EPC, IMS, NFV) and ensure successful network launch.
• Perform routine maintenance, fault handling and rapid anomaly resolution to maintain network stability.
• Support network planning, capacity upgrades, cut‑over activities and prepare technical solutions.
• Coordinate joint commissioning with wireless, transport and transmission domains and optimise network KPIs.
• Produce technical documentation, operation manuals and train local O&M teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in core network delivery, integration or maintenance (fresh graduates welcome).
• Good command of English, both spoken and written; additional local language is a plus.

Required skills

• Understanding of LTE and 5G NSA/SA core network architecture.
• Knowledge of 5GC components (AMF, SMF, UPF, UDM, NRF) and EPC components (MME, SGW, PGW).
• Familiarity with IMS and NFV cloud‑based deployments.
• Experience with TCP/IP, S1, NG, Diameter and SIP signaling procedures.
• Ability to perform packet capture, signaling tracing and protocol analysis.
• Proficiency with core network management and operation tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and log‑analysis capabilities.
• Basic Linux command‑line skills.
• Understanding of virtualization and cloud fundamentals.
