Content Moderator – Trust & Safety Specialist (Remote)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist) ensures that user‑generated content on our platform complies with policies, legal standards, and community expectations. Working remotely, you will protect users by identifying and removing harmful material such as hate speech, harassment, misinformation, and graphic content.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported text, images, and videos, focusing on high‑priority and edge‑case queues.
• Monitor daily queues to spot emerging abuse patterns and promptly alert the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool performance and suggest workflow improvements.
• Maintain a decision accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistent policy application.
• Investigate removal or suspension appeals and make fair reinstatement decisions.
• Respond to “red alert” incidents such as live graphic events or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or community management for a major tech/social media platform.
• Strong emotional resilience and proven strategies for handling disturbing content.
• Deep understanding of regional cultural nuances and the ability to differentiate hate speech from protected speech.
• Track record of processing high volumes (80‑100+ items per hour) while maintaining quality metrics.

Required skills

• Proficiency with moderation platforms such as Hive, Besedo, and Salesforce.
• Experience using Google Workspace tools.
