Cluster Director of Human Resources

About the role

The Cluster Director of Human Resources will join the executive committee of the Kigali Marriott Hotel, reporting directly to the General Manager and functionally to the Regional Senior Director of HR. This senior leader will shape HR strategy, drive talent acquisition, succession planning, and performance management to support the hotel’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the property’s HR strategy aligned with business priorities and diversity goals.
• Lead talent acquisition, workforce planning, and succession initiatives across the cluster.
• Manage performance management, employee engagement surveys, and related follow‑up actions.
• Oversee the human capital review process, assess leadership pipelines, and drive succession planning.
• Monitor and promote effective use of the myHR system by managers and staff.
• Serve as a change manager for high‑impact employee initiatives.
• Represent HR at owners’ meetings, presenting retention, vacancy, satisfaction, and training metrics.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 4 years HR/operations experience, OR a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with 2 years relevant experience.
• Proven ability to work independently, develop processes, and align HR initiatives with broader business goals.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with experience presenting HR results to senior leadership.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems (e.g., myHR).
