Accountant – Travel Company

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our travel business in Kigali. You will support the finance function by handling tax filings, invoicing, cash management and ensuring compliance with RRA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• File tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT) and ensure compliance with Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) rules.
• Issue invoices using the Electronic Billing Machine (EBM) and prepare receipts.
• Maintain cash book, bank book and perform bank reconciliations.
• Handle cash transactions, prepare client statements and follow up on payments.
• Manage payroll statutory deductions (RSSB, PAYE) and related reporting.
• Keep accurate financial records and support month‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience with an IATA‑registered travel agency.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience operating an Electronic Billing Machine (EBM).
