About the role
The Accountant will safeguard the cooperative’s financial integrity, oversee financial operations, ensure statutory compliance and support strategic decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate cooperative budgets.
- Ensure compliance with cooperative laws, tax regulations and financial standards.
- Establish and maintain effective internal financial control systems.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement recommendations.
- Provide professional financial advice to management and members.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in cooperatives or financial institutions.
- Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and high integrity.
- Excellent written and spoken English; French is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency with accounting software SAGE.
- Proficiency with SAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
