Senior IPC MNCH Technical Advisor

About the role

The Senior IPC/MNCH Technical Advisor will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) preparedness, and continuity of Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) services under the MCGL BEVD Project. Reporting to the Chief of Party, the advisor will work closely with Rwanda's Ministry of Health, Rwanda Biomedical Centre, and other public health partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical guidance on Ebola preparedness, IPC, and health‑facility readiness for national and sub‑national stakeholders.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based IPC strategies aligned with WHO, Africa CDC, and local guidelines.
• Conduct preparedness assessments, readiness reviews, and support emergency response drills and simulations.
• Integrate IPC and Ebola preparedness measures into MNCH services to ensure safe delivery of essential care during outbreaks.
• Strengthen infection‑prevention practices in maternity wards, labor and delivery units, NICUs, newborn care corners, pediatric wards, and antenatal/post‑natal services.
• Oversee healthcare‑worker safety programs, PPE preparedness, and occupational health measures.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in IPC, EVD or other viral hemorrhagic fever preparedness, and MNCH service continuity.
• Proven ability to work with ministries, public health emergency operations centers, and district health authorities.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills for risk‑based preparedness.
