Child Protection Specialist (NO-3)

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist (NO-3) will support UNICEF’s mission to create a safe environment for children in Rwanda. Reporting to the senior Child Protection Specialist, you will contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child protection programmes across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and planning of child protection programmes and projects.
• Manage programme delivery, monitor progress, and ensure results are reported in line with UNICEF’s results‑based management approach.
• Provide technical and operational guidance to field teams during implementation.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs, and other stakeholders to strengthen child protection systems.
• Promote innovation, knowledge sharing and capacity‑building activities.
• Ensure compliance with Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in International Development, Psychology, Sociology, Social Services, Human Rights, International Law or a related social science field.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation within the child protection or humanitarian sector.
