Associate Data Specialist (UN Resident Coordinator System)

About the role

The Associate Data Specialist will support the UN Resident Coordinator System in Kigali by contributing to the design, implementation and quality assurance of data collection systems, databases and analytics that underpin the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal data engineers, data scientists and subject‑matter experts to develop and maintain databases and data pipelines.
• Coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs and national statistical offices to exchange data, best practices and ensure consistency across reporting frameworks.
• Consolidate, validate and quality‑check agency inputs for the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Group.
• Track cooperation‑framework indicators, milestones and results, and support timely reporting.
• Prepare analytical products and evidence‑based briefs for Results Groups, MEL and the United Nations Country Team.

Required profile

• University degree in statistics, economics, data science or a related field.
• Experience working in international development, UN systems or multi‑stakeholder environments is an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to data quality and statistical efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with diverse partners and stakeholders.
