Research Assistant – Educational Research

About the role

The University of Global Health Equity’s Educational Development and Quality Center (EDQC) seeks a full‑time Research Assistant to strengthen its portfolio of educational research in health professions education, competency‑based education, mentorship, academic leadership, and quality assurance. Working under the supervision of the Chair of EDQC, you will contribute to institutional research initiatives, scholarly publications, and academic dissemination activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct structured literature reviews and develop annotated bibliographies in priority research areas.
• Assist in designing research protocols, creating surveys, interview guides, and Delphi questionnaires.
• Prepare ethics and Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions where required.
• Organise, clean, and manage quantitative and qualitative datasets, maintaining secure documentation and version control.
• Perform preliminary quantitative analyses using Excel, SPSS, STATA, or R, and support qualitative coding with NVivo or manual methods.
• Develop summary tables, figures, and charts to present findings.
• Draft, edit, and format manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals and conference presentations.
