Local Information Security Officer (LISO)

About the role

The Local Information Security Officer (LISO) will safeguard the company’s information assets across the Eastern Africa region. Reporting to senior management, the LISO ensures that security controls, policies, and procedures are applied consistently and that regulatory and contractual data‑protection requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and adapt the Central Information System Security Policy (ISSP) for the local perimeter and monitor compliance.
• Lead annual security reviews, audits and risk‑assessment programmes, coordinating with internal business partners and external auditors.
• Manage the local security team, overseeing cyber‑security operations and incident response.
• Communicate risks and mitigation recommendations to senior leadership.
• Develop, maintain and enforce information security policies, procedures and KPI reporting for the Eastern Africa perimeter.
• Support Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DRP) planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with personal data protection regulations and contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in information security within a logistics or transport environment.
• Strong understanding of regional regulatory requirements for data protection.
• Ability to lead a security team and coordinate cross‑functional initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to senior management.
