Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor will join a global charitable organization dedicated to helping vulnerable children. This position focuses on planning, executing, and reporting on IT‑related audit engagements to strengthen risk management and control environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Annual Internal Audit Plan using a risk‑based approach for IT audit areas.
• Monitor emerging IT risks, cybersecurity threats, regulatory changes and industry trends.
• Plan, execute and lead IT audit engagements covering general controls, cybersecurity, governance, risk management, system reviews, access administration, backup and disaster recovery, project assurance and third‑party technology risk.
• Utilise data‑analytics and technology‑enabled audit techniques to improve audit efficiency and coverage.
• Prepare comprehensive audit working papers and reports in line with internal audit methodology and quality standards.
• Validate and follow‑up on management’s implementation of audit actions, providing accurate issue tracking and status reporting.
• Communicate emerging risks, control weaknesses and improvement opportunities to management and the Internal Audit Manager.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies, templates, tools and analytics techniques.
• Maintain awareness of applicable laws, regulations and recognised IT/cybersecurity frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal audit, IT, risk, compliance, finance and other business functions while preserving independence.
