Construction Quality Assurance Engineer – Fixed-Term

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with 3‑5+ years of experience to lead quality assurance for the RICA Seed Centre construction in Rwanda. The role involves ensuring that all construction activities meet the organisation’s high standards for safety, compliance, and durability.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction plans, specifications, drawings and technical documentation for compliance with approved standards, codes and regulations.
• Inspect delivered materials to verify quality, specifications, quantities and conformity with approved submittals.
• Conduct ongoing quality compliance checks throughout construction, maintaining accurate records of inspections, findings, non‑conformities and corrective actions.
• Prepare and review civil and structural engineering reports, drawings and detailing to support quality assurance.
• Perform regular site inspections, monitor construction activities and coordinate corrective actions with consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
• Identify quality risks early, implement quality control procedures and testing requirements, and ensure alignment with project schedules.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Civil or Structural Engineer.
• Proven experience in construction quality assurance, inspection and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of construction codes, standards and technical documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams and manage site‑based issues.
