Senior Breast Imaging Officer

About the role

The Senior Breast Imaging Officer will lead the implementation of the MURIKA project, a hybrid implementation‑effectiveness trial aimed at decentralising breast ultrasound services across 16 district hospitals in Rwanda. Based in Butaro, the role combines clinical supervision, tele‑ultrasound support, and research coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Provide real‑time virtual supervision to clinicians and medical imaging technologists using REACTS radiology software during tele‑ultrasound sessions.
• Deliver asynchronous feedback for recorded ultrasound examinations and ensure quality standards are met.
• Coordinate data collection and reporting for the R01‑MURIKA trial.
• Travel regularly to selected district hospitals to support training, troubleshoot equipment, and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with the Director of Research and Training and partner institutions such as Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Required profile

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in radiology, medical imaging, or a related health field.
• Extensive experience in breast ultrasound imaging and interpretation.
• Proven supervisory or mentorship experience, preferably in low‑resource settings.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Rwanda.
