About the role
The Infrastructure Assistant Intern will support the Director of Infrastructure in coordinating departmental activities, managing petty cash, and ensuring smooth operations of the infrastructure team in Butaro, Rwanda. This role combines administrative coordination with hands‑on support for procurement, meetings, and documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, updating, and disseminating department policies, procedures, and maintenance guidelines.
- Prepare minutes and reports for departmental meetings and represent the department in inter‑departmental sessions.
- Track procurement requests, act as liaison with the Procurement team, and manage contractor payment documentation.
- Oversee petty‑cash funds, process expense reimbursements, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Coordinate transport and logistics for team members and contractors.
- Support onboarding of new infrastructure staff and serve as backup during staff absences.
Required profile
- 2‑3 years of experience in operational coordination or administrative support, preferably in infrastructure or facilities management.
- Bachelor’s degree in management, facilities/estate management, architecture, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong ability to work independently, multitask, and take initiative.
